We all know what New Year’s resolutions are. The commitment you make every year to change, to do things differently, to make positive habit and lifestyle changes. I’m a believer in making resolutions especially when you set them as goals not just wishes. Wishful thinking won’t get you anywhere, but goal setting can take you anywhere you want to go.

That’s why I decided to make a Valentine’s Day resolution. I know where I want to be, relationship-wise, next year and I know what changes I need to make in order to get there. After a two month dating detox, I figure now is the time to get back in the game and what better day to start than Valentine’s Day.

So, I guess you’re wondering what kinds of things can you put on your Valentine’s Day Resolution list. Well here are a few, some of these are mine, and some are ideas I got from friends of mine who I brought onto the Valentine’s Day Resolution bandwagon.

5 Ways To Get A Date Before Valentine’s Day

There are only 3 weeks until Valentine’s Day. So if you don’t want to be dateless, you really need to start now! Now I can’t tell you how to find your true love or soul mate by Valentine’s Day, but I can tell you the best way to find someone that you can go out with on V-day and enjoy yourself. These strategies are not just  for a Valentine’s Day date but are also a good jump start to getting back  in the dating world if you’ve taken a break from it (which we all sometimes need to do) or just want to amp up your dating life.

1. Speed dating. Mix and mingle with other singles in your area. You spend 3-8 minutes talking to the single men at the event or party. If you both are interested, the service provide contact information so you can set up another date. Companies like Hurrydate.com and 8minutedating.com are great places to start. And don’t worry if there are no events listed for your area, Hurrydate.com also has an online speed dating service.

2. Blind Dates. I know this is the one type of date most people dread. But blind dating has taken a bad rap. Sure there are times you’ll be fixed up with people you’d never want to date and probably never want to see again, but there’s always a chance that you’ll be set up with a great guy.
